Becoming vegetarian?

For the past few days, somehow my taste buds have been repelling meat, in particular pork. Just cant stand the sight and smell of pork (havent encountered char siew la)

Still ok with fish. Eating lots of vege and fruits.

Like today, I had curry mee for lunch. Told the guy no cockles, prawns, pig skin and chicken. He gave me the look (so-what-are-you-putting-in-your-curry-mee-then-look)

Hmm...what's happening? Body giving me signals to become a vegetarian?

Holidays = FOOD = More exercise!

It is currently the holiday season. There is only a gap of 6 days between Christmas and New Year. Everyone is busy arranging time to meet up for catching up and of course, in accordance to the Malaysian culture, FOOD!

There was abundance of food and this also means ensuring exercise time. Made a trip to a local park, where there is a canopy walk. My last trip to the canopy walk was 5 years ago. Still remembered that I was panting the last time. This time round, it was a breeze (Thanks to FitLine!). Haha.

Me at the canopy walk. Not imposing at all, compared to the many team building activities I attended before.

Like this picture. Ray of light piercing through the foliage
Yesterday, passed this car enroute to the hill for my exercise. I have NEVER seen so many tissue boxes in a car. And mind you, all of the tissue boxes have tissue in them. Perhaps the family members of the car have a bad case of sinus?

Tissue car?

Till then, Happy New Year 2010! Great and abundant year ahead.

Traditional Business vs MLM

An acquaintance called me today and we caught up a bit. Turned out that P was switching industry as P is struggling to make ends meet in the current industry.

The moment P told me this, I felt sorry for P. I was there before - in a traditional business. Pumped in RMxxx, xxx of capital and in the end, less than 2 years, all went belly up.

The pain and hurt is still there and thus, I chose the new business model, ie MLM, ie FitLine. Minimal capital but huge market and business potential. Not only that, no overhead but most importantly, good time management.

Thus to P, I wish them all the best and may their new business venture soar.

Fit for Life

My first run was way back in 2000. Out of curiosity, my friends and I went for the Penang International Bridge Marathon. Of course, went for the half marathon which was 21.4km. Come to think of it, we were nuts. No training whatsoever. All of us completed the run albeit aching legs the next day!

Fast forward to 2009, I have been going for a few competitive walks and thank goodness for FitLine, I managed to get rankings for every one of them.

Thus, I decided that I should give runs a try after so many years. And this time, not so ambitious and only went for the 7km run.

It was a good run. Enjoyed the scenery. Met a few people. And most importantly, I concluded that I enjoy walks better than runs. And also, wouldnt have been able to walk/run if I had stayed at 77kg! Being lighter is so much easier...

Both the starting point and finishing point, waiting to go

Time freedom

I was at the shopping mall a few days ago for an appointment. Holy crowd! Where did the crowd come from??? Christmas, New Year, school holiday, all combined into one!

It was just so congested. The cashier had a long line, and people were grabbing things as though they were FREE!

At first, I thought of grabbing afternoon tea, but when I saw the crowd, I was just so out of there. I cant stand crowd, cant stand brushing shoulders or bare skin with another person.

Thus, I choose to go to malls during off peak periods.

And FitLine gives me the time freedom :)

People walking by freshly baked bread. All the dust settling on the bread? No thanks

Sustainability = Innovation

Recently I attended a FitLine business partner's daughter's wedding. I dont fancy wedding dinners as the food is rich and God knows why shark's fin soup is served. I dont take shark's fin soup as it's cruelty to animals and it has no nutritional value.

However, I still attend wedding dinners for the relationship factor. As a token of appreciation from the host, many will give chocolate/fruit cake to the guests.

But for this dinner, we were given chopsticks (as photographed) which I think it's quite unique. When I saw the chopsticks, the first thing that came to my mind is, people are getting more innovative and creative. And in business sense, innovation is the buzzword to sustainability. If business fails to change, to keep pace with the market's changes, the business will fade out.

This is why, it's important that businesses have a strong R&D team to ensure rapid innovation. And this is also what FitLine has. We have been winning Top 100 most innovative awards in Germany for the past 7 years.

That's the spirit :)

End of the World?

When the cinemas were showing previews of 2012, I didnt have the slightest intention to watch it. I have avoided 'negative' movies for a long time - horror, end of the world kind of shows.

But after the hype and after I think the whole world has watched it, I didnt want to be left behind. So I went to watch.

Ok. It does makes me think. That the Earth will one day come to an end. However, I think what is most important is we should live with hope. And live with vocation that we are here to fulfill our purpose. When I mentioned this to my friend who watched the movie with me, L mentioned that I was 'ultra positive'.

It's sad that some people live lives like a robot - day in and out, doing the same thing, and hope to grow old with grey hair and eventually meet their maker. Life is truly beautiful. The people we come across with, the many colours of nature, the experiences, we go through...

And I will always share with people, when doing sales, when doing FitLine (to me, FitLine is sales, although not hard core sales) we meet all kinds of people. Some people will leave footprints in our hearts, some people you are just glad that you dont have to see them again, and some people...you are just glad that you know another friend.

Sky juice???

Went to mamak (Malaysian local eatery, which serves a mixture of Indian and Malay food) yesterday with my FitLine business partner for a chat.

Both of us had no intention to eat, just wanted to drink.

I ordered plain water. The waiter looked at me, as though have never seen someone who ordered plain water. What's wrong anyway?

Teh limau/Teh o kosong - dont know what tea leaves they use, and sometimes they add sugar in there.

And I'm not a fan of coffee or tea or soft drink.

So that leaves me plain water!

Someone commented before. I must be a very thrifty person, since I only drink plain water!

Little people crossing the street

At the place where I parked my car this morning, I saw little people (between 2-5 years old) aka kids went for field trip to Domino's Pizza.

I presume that they have just finished their field trip and thus, on the way back to the bus. The teachers were franctically getting the kids to hold hands to cross the street. The teachers also halted the traffic so that kids could safely get across.

All nearby were just smiling, watching the 'parade'. I too was enjoying it and forgot to snap a picture of the scene. They were just so cute - in a sea of red uniforms.

After the parade, the traffic resumed. I even caught one driver smiling away. He must have enjoyed the parade too!

This is what I like about FitLine. Moving around, seeing different things from time to time. Dont think I would be able to enjoy such sights should I still be in the corporate world.

Free lunch?

Of late, I realised that the few FitLine prospects that I meet at cafes/fast food outlets refuse to purchase something to drink. Talking about free seat/office???

I will normally arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time so that I am calm and rested and not huffing and puffing from the traffic.

I will then proceed to call for water and enjoy watching the world go by (sometimes will read if prospect is late).

Thus, of late, when prospects arrive, instead of getting something to drink (of which I will ask whether they want something to drink) they will continue talking until their mouth is dry. Here, I will offer my bottle of mineral water and they will gladly drink!

Hmmm...action speaks louder than words?

Online social networking

I was at a coffeeshop a few days ago, trying to access wifi.

Somehow my netbook cant access my broadband at home and I'm no IT expert.

There I was, minding my own business and as usual, I like to look around to see what is everyone else doing.

I managed to catch a glimpse of someone else's screen. All were chat windows. This guy must have just finished work, dinner and decided to hang around at the coffeeshop, chatting online.

Personally, I am not a fan of hours of online chatting. Prefer to meet up with the person over a cuppa. Somehow, online chatting is not the same.

Will online chatting replace face to face chatting in future? I dont know. But I do believe that online marketing is the next phase of marketing. That's why this blog was started to share my FitLine journey. Of course, this blog will not replace face to face meet up.
